1989 SEEIN'RED was a continuation of LÄRM except for Menno the singer of Lärm (although he was still present when we were changing the name of the band.) in those early days the line-up was Jos-vocals, Olav-drums, Paul-guitar and Burt-bass. With this line-up we lasted for about 7 months. In that period we recorded the first 3 seein'red songs and 1 RONDOS cover-song who ended up on the INTIFADAH compilaton LP. Soon after this recording session Jos got back on bass because he didn't felt comfortable as a singer/frontman and he missed the 4-strings. We more or less made the decision to continue as a trio: Paul-guitar & vocals, Jos - bass, Olav - drums. That's what the band still is nowadays. After leaving Seein' red ( or did we really kick him out???..) Burt moved on with his own bands PROFOUND, MANLIFTINGBANNER , COLT TURKEY( bands that had Paul & Olav in their line-up and Jos did spend some months in Profound.) and DEADSTOOLPIGEON.
Jos, Paul and Olav have been playing together now in various punkbands since 1980. You can say that is something special, certainly in a scene where bands come and go all the time. (There are people who nickname us the 'Rolling stones of punk', we consider that as a compliment ....although we prefer The Who!).What's the formula for this? Well, there isn't one.
