Rectify is a metal band founded in the year 2000. Rectify was and still is influenced by Pantera, Slayer and the 80’s speed and thrash metal. They demand their music to be aggressive and extremely loud.

Rectify is about aggression. This aggression is not fueled by hate, nor is it fueled by some kind of positive energy. It just is aggression, evoked by itself.

In 2005 Rectify released their debut album “Have Mercy…” through Garden of Exile Records. The release was followed by live shows with bands like Darkest Hour, In-Quest and Length of Time and a release tour with Kickback. The album was very well received by the magazines such as Aardschok and Rock Tribune and resulted in many interviews and multiple appearances at amongst others radio station Kink FM. Since then Rectify has been playing all around to spread the heaviness of their debut album.

Rectify started creating and rehearsing new songs for their second album in 2006. The urge to expand the music was strongly felt. Everyone involved reacted. The result, their new and second album titled “Heartbeat”, was recorded and mixed in late 2007 at Heartwork Studio by former Born From Pain guitarist Stefan van Neerven and mastered by UE Nastasi at Sterling Sound. The album, including cover artwork created by Kris Verwimp, will be released in autumn 2008.

After playing, rehearsing and experimenting over the years Rectify has come to a clear understanding about what Rectify is. They are however by no means done.

Now, Rectify is ready to join the on stage war in full force once more. Along with Garden of Exile Records, the beauty of aggression will be spread around like a disease.
