At the end of 1998, the idea was found by Boris and Christian, to built a HC-bandproject that combines the strength of nowadays Metal-New-School-Hardcore and the dynamic of Old-School Hardcore in one shell. Just a short time later five people came together to bring HC closer to it's origin, by combining the just mentioned musically styles with provocation, anger and a social critical message that spits into societies face... something that seems to be lost in nowadays Hardcore!

Nevertheless everybody was aware of the importance of the lyrics and still is endeavored not to neglect this point by always trying to put a message in the songs no matter if it is a social critical message or just personal one, no matter if someone could feel offended by it or not! But the music and the lyrics will speak for themselves and can't be explained in a large course anyway, so a hearing sample replaces every try of explanation at all.

Just after their first show, countless other shows followed until they released their Demotape in the summer of 1999 which was a great success. Countless gigs followed again this time contributing to the band's routine live performance and stage presence which makes the band a bulldozer that knows how to stomp the audience with their energetic live performance into the ground. Finally, all the blood, sweat and the tears pay off and Copykill caught Alveran Records' attention and they got offered a split together with long-time-friends of the band 'Drift'.

More and more people got interested in Copykill and thus they were able to proof their abilities either has headliner for smaller shows or as support act for bigger acts with the likes of "Earth Crisis", "Hatebreed", "Agnostic Front", "Madball", "Integrity", "Inner Dam" and "25 Ta Life" just to name a few. After a two-week European tour in april 2001 together with the Belgian Band "Liar" and a mini U.S. Tour in the July 2001, the first full length entitled "Victim Or Witness" has been released, again on Alveran Records.
