During 98 & 99 Maarten "Daredevil" joined Rick ta Life in Commin' Correct for the CC-European tour. Between those 2 tours, he went to the States to play a few CC shows out there. During those days, Maarten "Daredevil" met a whole lot of people and the idea came to do some kind of international Old School Hardcore project, as during these periods (98 & 99) metal was becoming more and more prominent within the hardcore sound. In the end it took ‘til September 2001 before the first recordings came to light.
Before Maarten left to go to the USA we agreed upon a deal to release the recordings which he was going to make whilst being in the States. Two days in the studio would make it possible to record 6 or 7 songs for a mini CD.
To be honest, I didn't see how they could manage this upfront, since they had to do this in such short notice with people who saw each other just for a few days and I was a bit anxious for the result....
He then came back with the rough mix of 8 songs..... Holy shit!!!! When I heard the master for the first time, I knew that I had something in my hands which was very special. I was amazed by the quality and diversity of these Old School Anthems. Catchy as hell, great singalongs and the whole CD was fuelled with a kind of "pile-on" atmosphere!! It was all recorded by Maarten "Daredevil", Richie BFL crew, Jotham BFL crew and Shawn BFL crew in the famous Mountainside Studio in Tobyhanna, Pennsylvenia (USA). Since they had more songs ready to go, we decided to record four more songs. These four were recorded by Maarten "Daredevil", Harry and Roel "Daredevil" in the “Dé Studio” in Asse near Brussels, Belgium and then sent to Pennsylvenia (USA) to add the Vocals. After a few weeks the vocals were added and we had a full length of super charged hardcore on our hands. This was put together and mastered by Electric City in Brussels, Belgium in Co-op with Maarten "Daredevil"
This really is an International “All-Stars” project in every way that the term suggests and features members of such scene stalwarts as Daredevil, Krutch, Boxcutter and Mushmouth. This is also represented in the layout which was done by Kentax (Japan) who has also done layouts for 25 Ta Life and Angel Crew.
