Unearth work on new album

Massachusetts metallers UNEARTH have begun work the follow-up to 2006's "III: In the Eyes of Fire", tentatively due in October via Metal Blade Records. The bulk of the CD's instrumental tracks are being recorded at Massachusetts' System Recording Studios with producer Adam Dutkiewicz (Killswitch Engage guitarist), while the album's drum tracks are being laid to tape by drummer Derek Kerswill (Kingdom Of Sorrow, Seemless) at Zing Studios. The as-yet-untitled record is said to feature the band's "most dynamic material to date," combining strong tension and release, abundant guitar solos and a bulldozing power-groove.

"HEAVY METAL SHRED MAYHEM! NOW WITH 50% MORE GUITAR SOLOS!! If the new UNEARTH songs were laundry detergent then this is what it would say on the box," according to Buz. "Fortunately for all you metal maniacs, it's not laundry soap but a mind-blowing journey consisting of epic mosh and shred, so we had to call in the one man who could wrangle such a massive beast - Adam Dutkiewicz. We are very excited to be working with him again and between 40 oz. chugging and doing burn-outs in Ken's '82 Corvette, we are recording what will definitely be the best album of our career.

A "teaser" look at us working in the studio can be accessed via our MySpace page. Additional looks at the recording of the album, including fly-on-the-wall video footage, riffs and excerpts of new music will be made available in the coming weeks."

On August 1, UNEARTH will make a special main-stage appearance at the 2008 Wacken Open Air festival. Wacken is the largest exclusively metal music festival in the world and will see UNEARTH share the stage with Iron Maiden, Carcass, At The Gates and more.

	Muzikaal doet het me tegenwoordig nog vrij weinig. Maar die gasten maken er live toch wel altijd een mooi feestje van.

	Unearth is een van de weinige, if not de enige, van die metalbands waar ik nog naar luister. Heerlijke sound.

	gaat t weer allemaal hetzelfde klinken. vind the oncoming storm erg gaaf, maar alles wat daarna komt is voor mijn gevoel een mooie herhaling daarvan.

	Vind het bullshit,natuurlijk moet je zeggen edat alleen de eerste leuk is want dan ben je tof. In mijn ogen is de eerste de slechtste plaat. En of het mtv is of niet het gaat er uiteindelijk toch om of je het leuk vind. Toch wel raar want ik zie uberhaubt geen Metal meer op mtv.

	Het verschijnsel van 'de eerste plaat het vetst vinden' is eigenlijk heel logisch. Daarna is de verrassing er immers af. Niet zo gek toch?

	Dan luister je toch echt naar de verkeerde bands als die zichzelf niet op hun 2e release overtreffen.

	Het heeft niets met 'objectief goed zijn' te maken, maar met het gevoel dat je erbij hebt. Dat gevoel heb ik bijvoorbeeld amper bij nieuwe hardcorebands, terwijl ik kwalitatief niet-hoogstaande dingen van 10 jaar terug nog erg goed trek. Dus dat heeft niets met overtreffen te maken.
