Hopesfall - A Types

I�ve heard about this band about three years ago and now I finally got the chance to check some material of these upcoming stars from the US metalcore scene. Metalcore you think? Well, I always thought they made some complex metalcore with heavy breakdowns. But �A Types� is something different. This is more a mixture of rock, emocore and some metalcore influences. A band that comes to my mind is Thursday when I listen to this. But Hopesfall sound less intense and the songs are too overdone. I dare to say that they play this style because it is so hot at the moment. So it's no wonder that they sold over 35.000 copies from their last one, �The Satellite Years�, in the United States so far. The new one will exceed that number for sure. It has a heavy but also clean production and songs like �Start & Pause� are like candy for your ears. But I still have a bad taste in my mouth because the whole album is too preserved. And the beautiful artwork can�t solve that problem.

luister de EP "no wings to speak of" eens zou ik zeggen. Die is w�l de moeite waard.
jammer van dit nieuwe werk.

zeker, zeker... 'no wings to speak of' is een juweeltje, 'the sattelite years' is ronduit saai en deze plaat check ik wel, maar lijkt me niet direct de plaat v/h jaar eerlijk gezegd.
