3 Inches Of Blood - Advance And Vanquish

What would a combination of In Flames and Judas Priest sound like? Well, it would probably come very close to what 3 Inches Of Blood is doing on “Advance And Vanquish”. They may describe it as a mixture of metalcore, post-hardcore and hair-metal, but I would label this as modern heavy metal. The two vocalists Cam Pipes and Jamie Hooper make sure that every vocal style is present, from Rob Halford-like screams to death metal grunts. With their over-the-top style metal and lyrics about battles and pirates they may sound like a joke to many people, but if so, they’re a good joke at least. The two guitarists Justin Hagberg and Shane Clark work together flawlessly on some Iron Maiden-type double riffs and on top of that this album has a production that will amaze a lot of listeners out there.

To sum it up: no, this has nothing to do with hardcore at all. But if you like the “Painkiller” era of Judas Priest, you’ll love 3 Inches Of Blood. I know I did! Otherwise you can listen to “Advance And Vanquish” if you want to have a good laugh. Either way, just give it a try.

	had deze als promo gekregen Niet helemaal mijn stijl, maar dr staan echt een shitload met gave riffs op !

	die tweede zanger, wat brutere stem had niet gehoeven wat mij betreft. voor de rest vind ik het een prima plaat
