When you hear the tight metal during the opening of “The Worst Is Yet To Come”, you might think that Still Remains spreads their love for Swedish metal in a raging tempo just like Darkest Hour does. But the band from Detroit Rock City continues their journey by using keyboards and clean vocals that make it all sound very melodic. Of course it’s not very original in this day and age, but it sure is catchy. “Of Love And Lunacy” turned out to be a nice album, also because of the massive production by GGGarth Richardson (Rage Against The Machine). The metal riffs will please fans of Soilwork and In Flames, while fans of modern metalcore like Atreyu and Avenged Sevenfold will get their kicks from the diversity and melodic influences. Just take a listen and decide for yourself if this is a smart marketing formula or just the best of two worlds.
