Pick Up
This 7 inch was released in May on Pick Up Records and the 500 copies that were made are almost gone by now...and finally there’s a review on asice.net! I know, we are not as fast as The Shining plays their music, but this is just too good to keep it unnoticed. These dudes from Amsterdam deliver fast eighties hardcore with some hints to the crossover style like D.R.I. did in their beginning. The five songs have the right dose of energy and the music and vocals just sound pissed off. Like the most bands in this genre you have to deal with screamy vocals, but these vocals are a bit rougher and lower. My favourite songs are "Situation Remains" and “Masquerade” where the combination of eighties hardcore and crossover is the best. The guitar riffs in those songs just kick ass!
The lyrics deal with topics like religion, corruption, the downfall of humanity and politics. True, a lot of bands still sing about these issues and actually still nothing has changed in this world. But if nobody cared anymore how would the world look like? Luckily these angry lyrics are combined with raging hardcore so you can’t complain about lyrics that are done over and over again.

| Goeie review Maurice, ik ben het wel met je eens. Deze 7" blaast er lekker doorheen en vooral Masquerade is echt een supernummer. Wat mij betreft een aanrader dus. |

maar volgens mij heeft UPS ook wel een beetje meegeholpen aan deze plaat? |

ja de ups zite is een beetje achtergebleven qua news en release dingetjes hahah
blijft een goede plaat en een goed label.

in duitse distros staat er ook alleen pick up recs achter

UPS hefet deze plaat inderdaad gecoreleased. Vandaar dat er ook een UPS logo in de hoes staat....
Maar de credits gaan naar Pick Up records, aangezien de alles hebben geregeld. Maak er maar Pick UPS records van : ) |
