Not Just Words

The First Step is about the most loved and hated band around. This release has been discussed about three years prior to its release. Finally four years after the 7”, The First Step releases their full length record. The A-side starts off with the best song of The First Step until now. “Time To Understand” really hits it off hard and the rest of the A-side is more or less in the shadow of that amazing song. The B-side is more consistent and especially the songs “Pursuit Of Happiness” and “Face The Pain” stand out. The production is good and the vintage feel of the artwork is good too. The lyrics are more powerful, honest than ever before. When the second chorus started I was singing along. This is the type of record I can listen to on a daily base. Anyone with the slightest love for old school hardcore needs to pick up this record.

PS: I am talking about the LP version released by Not Just Words Records exclusive for Europe, but I also got the cd version of the release on Rivalry Records. So even if you don’t have a record player there is no need to “skip” this record.

	Ik was niet onder de indruk van deze band, zowel live als op plaat, maar deze schijf is echt goed. Nu hopen dat ze live ook beter zijn geworden!

	Net gekocht op CD. Is erg goed, alleen zijn er stukjes dat ik de steem niet zo vet vind

	Erg coole plaat. Alhoewel de 1e track erg cool is, vind ik niet echt dat de rest van die kant ervan in de schaduw staat. Get Wise is bijvoorbeeld ook erg goed.

	Super plaat, zeker 4,5 ster waard. Over een paar jaar maar eens kijken of ie misschien zelfs 5 sterren waard was. Super release ook als geheel, erg cool artwork. Goed bezig NJW.

	de coolste hardcore release van 2006 tot nu toe...ze overtreffen de singel en demo makkelijk daarbij is de strot van stephen zo fuckin veel ruiger geworden!! 5 sterren

	Van de MCD ga ik nog steeds teringhard los, met name het openingsnummer. Deze nieuwe plaat doet me vooralsnog niks.
