True Colors - Perspective

Roughly a year after their full length True Colors found time to record a new 7”. Where the previous efforts were something I liked from the beginning, the new record took me a while to get into but the more I listen to it the more I like it. It sounds a bit more diverse and maybe a tiny bit calmer but also you can hear they have more experience to show as a band. The five songs on the 7” have a good and hard hitting production. The lyrics are interesting and neatly written. I really dig the song Don’t You Get It, because it is a killer opening song and it has very catchy lyrics. Anyone that is familiar with Bruce Springsteen recognises the cover as a sort rip-off of the boss on his Nebraska record. I think using that was a good idea, since it looks good and it also has the youth crew feeling, you would expect from a band such as True Colors. For me Perspective is definitely on the same level as their previous efforts, so I suggest you pick this up if you didn’t do that already.

	De vocalen vond ik wel even een stuk anders, maar het is weer een superstrak schijfje. Goede band!
