The Shining/Waking The Dead - Dutch Thrash Attack

Pick Up
We already reviewed the Waking The Dead tracks that are on this split-LP here, so I’ll just add to Nico’s review that I think this band rocks like hell.
And it’s very easy to understand why Waking The Dead chose The Shining to share a split-LP with, because this band plays ultra fast eighties crossover thrash. Their lyrics are mostly apocalyptic, like ‘Impending Doom’, ‘Last Man Standing’ and ‘Push The Button’. Apparently they’re not big fans of Jehovah’s witnesses, as you could have guessed just by reading the song title ‘Jehova’s Tuig’, the only track with Dutch lyrics. If you are wondering what kind of drugs these guys like, the song ‘Slovakian Meth’ gives you the answer. On the final track they pay homage to The Accused with their cover of ‘Slow Death’. If you like your music fast and furious, you’ll love The Shining for sure.
The killer artwork and killer songs make this split-LP a killer release. Be sure to check out these guys live during their European tour in August!

| Persoonlijk vind ik 3,5 ster aan de lage kant voor deze release, maar de review verwoord de release wel goed. Killer plaat.. persoonlijk meer fan van The Shining kant. Vind het ongelooflijk dat die band niet wat meer opgepikt wordt. |

| Tja, ik twijfelde tussen 3,5 en 4 sterren. Maar aangezien ik achteraf vaak vind dat ik teveel sterren heb gegeven, heb ik er maar 3,5 van gemaakt. |

En verder zeker fan, van allebei. En idd, the Shining verdient het onderhand wat breder opgepikt te worden. Maar ja, het blijft van die vreemde snelle teringherrie he...  |

super siked voor deze plaat. die waking the dead songs hebben hier al de nodige rondjes gedraaid, super benieuwd naar the shining (en de verbeterde opnamen van wtd).

muziek is goeeeeeed! artwork ook,mooi plakkie is dat,en die accused cover komt dicht bij het orig in de buurt,verdomd goede versie...
