v/a - Respect Your Roots

I Scream

When I first heard about this project it struck me as a great concept immediately. 27 seven Dutch and Belgian bands covering American hc classics! The result is a nice looking digipack and a 65 minute lasting cd with a wide variety of bands and songs. Most bands managed to sound like themselves, while others have tried to get close to the original. I think everybody will have different set of favourite songs on this album, depending on their personal favourites in US hardcore. The bands that struck me are The Butcher (DRI), One Night Stand (Circle Jerks), MM (Maximum Penalty), Tech-9 (Shelter (!)), LOT (Outburst), Maypole (Spudmonsters) and I Reject (SOIA).too much to mention. Cheers to Onno Cro-Mag for compiling this interesting cd!
