War Of Ages - Arise and Conquer

Christmas is coming and then it's fitting to listen to some Christian Metalcore. So, props for the timing of War Of Ages. I could go on and dissect the entire album for you. But actually you only need a handful of words to describe this one. I guess most of you know As I Lay Dying? Take the majority of their songs, make the breakdowns a bit slower and you have War Of Ages in a nutshell. They feel perfectly at home in the whole New Wave Of American Heavy Metal thing. No surprises whatsoever. Nevertheless, one way or another they keep you listening. But I can't pinpoint what it is. Maybe I don't need to. Sometimes you can just enjoy music without thinking why and how. I guess for me War Of Ages is such a band. So, if you dig bands like As I Lay Dying, Unearth and their peers, you will be pleased with Arise and Conquer. But don't expect anything close to a classic.
