Lewd - A Gun...It Makes Me Wanna Dance

Four songs in almost seven minutes. That's not long if you want to give your opinion. Lewd comes from the east of the Noord-Brabant area but I warn you, there are more Lewds in the world. You also have an American punk band called The Lewd and a guitar noise band from Tilburg also called Lewd who did a one time reunion on ZXZW in 2007. So you could say this trio didn't choose the most original name to start off their rollercoaster ride.

This demo sounds more like a rehearsal tape. Especially the drums are too distorted: it almost hurts your ears. It feels as if the drums were recorded when the wind was blowing through the rehearsal space. Because of the bad sound quality the four songs sound like Shikari on a bad night with the chaos of Orchid spread through it. The guitar riffs are the most promising on this demo while the singer could scream harder into the microphone. Or should I say he should screamo(re). Nevertheless, I bet with investing in a better sound and songwriting Lewd can show they can do a lot better.
