On Fire - Dreaming, Not Dying

Buttkick
First off, I know this is a pretty old record (early 2002), but it's a Dutch band and Buttkick records took the effort to send it to us so I wanted to give it a review. Besides that, this band deserves a fair review, because "Dreaming , Not Dying" turned out to be an awesome record! On Fire (formerly known as "Antcow") plays melodic old school with a rocking twist to it. They've got two singers and they differ a lot from eachother, unlike a lot of other bands that have two singers. One of them has this tuned down almost metal kind of voice while the other has a high-pitched old school throat and the combination of both is just great. Together with the killer-riffs (Iron Maiden!!) they give On Fire a very recognizable and original sound. For six songs long they simply kick ass! Wow, what more do you want? A good production, well written lyrics and superb artwork? You got it! Great stuff!

Vette shiaat dit hoor! Klinkt koel, alleen het geluid van de bas vind ik niet mooi! Voor de rest is de afwisseling van de stemmen ook erg goed! |
