Blind to Faith - The Seven Fat Years Are Over

For those who missed the news: Blind to Faith is the project of members from Amen Ra, Rise & Fall, Reproach and Insult. 'The Seven Fat Years Are Over' 12� is released by Holy Terror, the label of Dwid Hellion. He is also doing backing vocals on "Deathmantra" and while the music on this one already was inspired by Integrity, with his vocals the Integrity vibe is even more around.

Using their own bands as reference Blind to Faith is the sum of anger, hate, darkness, rawness and speed. Stijn spits his rage as he does in Reproach; Pit from Rise & Fall whispers anxiously in "Mountains of Gold" and Nabbe's oehhs at the end of �Floodgates� or in "Blood Like Water" makes this album vocally extreme and diverse. The music is pure raging hardcore in the vein of old Integrity and Ringworm with a raw crusty edge. The filth in the beginning of �Ashes to Ashes� is an ode to the likes of Iron Monkey but most of the songs are played fast.

The slower ones are �Mountains of Gold� and �The World Ablaze� (I must admit the acceleration halfway is very well done) and with these tracks Blind to Faith sets itself apart from other bands. The bottled up anger in these tracks is tremendous and a good opposite for the fast raw stuff.

The 12" is limited to 666 copies (the vinyl will play from the inside to the outside) and 250 copies came on transparent vinyl as pre-order with an Integrity/AVM split 7" (with covers from Septic Death) as a bonus. The 7 inch is sold out now but the band has some copies left on transparant vinyl. So be quick and I guess you also have to be fast to get the black version of this vicious piece of vinyl that's available from the label and band.
