Flesh Made Sin used to be a thrash metal band that revived the eighties thrash sound long before bands like Municipal Waste came along. I liked their release ‘Masterwork In Blood’ from 2002 a lot, so I was curious what the band was up to in 2009.
Well, it seems they got tired of thrash metal or maybe they hated the thrash trend or something. Anyway, they shifted into a more death metal and black metal influenced style. And to be honest: that’s not what I want to hear from Flesh Made Sin. But after listening to these songs some more, I must admit that they play their new style very well. The eighties vibe is definitely gone, since ‘The Aftermath Of Amen’ sounds really modern. The music is very heavy and dark, but the band didn’t forget about their thrash metal roots completely. You still hear the familiar shredding in ‘Zarathustra’ and ‘The Cold Steel Redemption’ for example.
To sum it up: ‘The Aftermath Of Amen’ is a good record and anyone into a modern metal mix can enjoy it, but I still liked their old style better.

| Heb hem niet gehoord, maar als Flesh Made Sin geen trash meer maakt is dat zonde ja! | |||

| Tis geen typische Thrash meer, de sound is uitgediept, maar zeker een sterk album. Het openingsnummer is echt super. |
