State Of Mind - Mental Gold

Crucial Attack

From the first notes of opening track ‘The Force Inside’ you’ll know that State Of Mind is back with something good. ‘Followers’ is the next song and it shows us some new influences that still sound very suitable for State Of Mind, since it is a band that was never afraid to look beyond the borders of the typical hardcore sound. When you think of State Of Mind, you think of melodic New York hardcore, groove (a lot), catchy songs and intelligent personal lyrics. My favourite lyrics on this release are ‘Followers’, ‘Justify’ and ‘Unfold’. It’s also good to hear that Emile’s vocals sound way stronger than before, since it used to be a weak point for State Of Mind.

Another thing that I really like about this release is the artwork. The medieval style painting and typography really fit well together, as goes for the combination with the pictures inside the booklet. Nice and clean lay-out, that matches the music of State Of Mind at the same time.

Other interesting points on this release are the intro to ‘Mental Gold’, the nicely done Dmize cover ‘Soul Search’ and the guest vocals by the infamous Deadpool on ‘Organized Chaos’. I think I’ve given you enough reasons to buy this album, didn’t I? It’s good music and really something different than you hear from most bands nowadays. Go check it out!

	Goede review! Ruig! We hebben een deel van het vinyl inmiddels gehad, echter was dit het "normale" vinyl, het limited vinyl en een deel van de normale persing hebben we nog niet gekregen omdat er, zoals ik vandaag hoorde, problemen waren met de hoezen. Deze moesten weer opnieuw gedrukt worden. Beetje kut allemaal nu wel wel het normale vinyl hebben, maar nog niet de pre-orders met het limited vinyl konden versturen. Ik begreep van franke dat ze er bij de perserij hard aan werken en dat we het volgende week ontvangen. Zowel de CD als het Vinyl zijn te bestellen op onze website; www.crucialattack.nl

	Mensen die én de SOM lp én de Keep it Clear EP hebben gepre-ordered moeten dus ook nog even wachten, hoewel de KIC nu uit is. Meer info één dezer dagen.
