Convulse - World Without God

After the re-release of Nirvana 2002's work it's time for a Finnish oldschool Death Metal classic entitled 'World Without God' from Convulse. Relapse already released a single and the album 'Reflections' in the nineties and comes up with the debut of Convulse now. Together with the Rescuscitation of Evilness demo from 1990 and two live songs (one is a Venom cover) this album is food for the oldschool death metal fan.

After all the Swedish bands came up with demos and albums Convulse was a bit later with their debut. They differ from them by using some Morbid Angel darkness in the track �Incantation of Restoration� and also the production is very eerie. In the song �Blasphemous Verses� you also hear the influence of Autopsy making this underground classic a very diverse Death Metal adventure. The tracks �Resuscitation of Evilness� and �Godless Truth� are just awesome Death Metal songs.

The album was already sold out for a long time, therefore it�s a good idea of Relapse Records to give this album a proper re-release now. The four added demo songs don�t add anything special because all the songs are also part of �World Without God�. The Venom cover �Countess Bathory� is cool to hear and it�s showing a glance of the later death �n roll direction. The other live song is �Incantation Resurrection� which was also on the album. The only question is if there are still people remembering or recently discovered Convulse in these days?
