Glasseater - Everything Is Beautiful When You Don't Look Down

Ofcourse Victory records continues their non-hardcore crusade! Glasseater is a Miami, Florida based pop-punk outfit and after already 3 releases on several other labels they made it to Victory. Well, I haven't heard a single note from one of those other records, but I can tell you that "Everything is beautiful when you don't look down" turned out to be quite enjoyable! 9 songs long you get a fine blend of rock, punk, hardcore and a big portion of emo.
Catchy and melodic tunes, ready to make you feel good and I must admit: yes, that works for me. The vocals are nice and clean, maybe a little bit on the whiney side, but that's not really disturbing. They are often combined with some screaming backing vocals and this works out reasonably well. I think this will appeal to people into bands like Grade, New Found Glory, Jimmy Eat World and even H20.
The lyrics, dealing about everyday subjects, are fun to read. The CD also contains enhanced footage, including an in-studio documentary, interview footage, a music video for "At Your Own Risk" and access to a secret website. A fresh and rocking record!
