Recently I was looking through the flyers that I collected over the years and I found a flyer for the Resistance tour in 2002. Seven years and a slightly modified name later the Persistence is still here and is probably the biggest travelling hardcore fest around.
This year's lineup offers some of the biggest and best hardcore bands from Europe and across the pond and on the Eindhoven date even more bands hit the stage. In six hours you will be able to see twelve different bands divided over two stages so no long breaks in between which is a good thing if you ask me.

Death By Stereo released their new record on I-scream this summer. Death Is My Only Friend is another milestone in their already impressive discography. They band did change their style a bit over the years but their live performances are always top notch.
Headlining the same stage as Death By Stereo is Born From Pain. I don’t think these guys need an introduction seeing that they toured the world and played almost every venue in the Netherlands and Belgium twice. Born From Pain never lets you down when it comes to their live performances and I don’t expect any less this time.
No Turning Back is opening the big stage this year and their relentless tour schedule and their unlimited recording output considered they deserve the spot on the big stage. I can’t recall seeing a bad No Turning Back show these last few years so my expectations are pretty high.
After a show in Amersfoort earlier this year where their lead singer wasn’t able to attend due to family issues, I think a lot people are looking forward to see Walls Of Jericho with their leading lady on stage. The last few records weren’t as interesting as their older work, but live it always is a pleasure to see them.
Agnostic Front released a their classic record Victim In Pain 25 years ago and I hope that they commemorate this release by playing a lot of songs of that record. If so this might be the best act on the fest this year.
Another favorite of mine that I haven’t seen in years is Biohazard. Their first three records are pure classics and their later output is okay too, but live this always has been a powerhouse of sound. Their mix of New York Hardcore with a metal edge still gets me pumped up and I can’t wait to sing these lines: “I question not me, it only happens to others. I can't deny reality as life gets smothered”.
As you can see there are so many good and experienced bands on the bill this year and that makes me think this year’s edition of the Persistence tour will be another one to remember.
The complete running order will be:
Demolition Stage:
15.00 Folsom
15.40 Crushing Caspars
16.30 Gamma Bomb
