So another year has passed. Apart from all the shit that has been going on in the world, at least we can say 2004 was a really good year for hardcore music. There were lots of cool shows, some really talented bands saw the light and a whole bunch of great records got released.
AsIce got bigger and sustained its position. This year only, we realised more than 20 specials, wrote numerous reviews, filled our database with 1396 more shows and thanks to all the visitors we generated quite some datatraffic too of course! That's why we want to thank [url=http://www.unilogicnetworks.nl/]Unilogic... »

Ironically enough the festival didn't take place at the Goudvishal itselves, but they found a bigger but very cool other venue called Musis Sacrum, also located in Arnhem. Ofcourse the AsIce.net crew was there and here's our extensive review and a couple of short talks with Rutger, Gerwin, Hugo (Malkovich) and... »

February 21st 2004 is a date that a lot of hardcore kids will remember. Inspired by American festivals like the Posi Numbers fest, Rob Huiskes and Erik van Weeghel came up with the idea of an old school hardcore fest with European bands only. The Light The Fuse fest was born and it was already a hype long before it was even 2004, but hey, what's hardcore without hypes, right? With an awesome line-up, a great crowd and a positive atmosphere this should already be one of this year's best shows. So here's the one and only Light The Fuse 2004 special, AsIce's 2 cents. Enjoy!

They started out as one of the many hardcore bands who try to create their own unique style, as you can hear on their self titled debut album on Ferret Music. First there was “Alive Or Just Breathing”, which got very good reviews all over, and now Killswitch Engage is back with their crucial third album called “The End Of Heartache”. 28 August 2004 · Rise and Fall just came back from a small tour with Damage Control and The First step, recently released their first full length called ‘Hellmouth’ and are taking over things as we speak. With their heavy clevo-sound they are standing out in the crowd of oldschool bands that are currently out there. We came up with a couple of questions for them and Vince (Bass) and Bjorn (vocals) were so kind to answer them. »
