Resistance: finally the perfect sound

posted by: David on 12 March 2010

Resistance from Belgium plays a mixture of metalcore and death metal. But don’t call them deathcore, because they hate that label. Olivier Dris, who plays guitar in Resistance, talks to AsIce.net about his band and their new album on GSR Music. On that album they finally created the sound they were looking for since they started out in 2004. Check it out!

At The Gates: closure at last

posted by: David on 2 March 2010

In 2008 there were 2 reunions that really mattered, both by bands that made a huge impact on the metal scene. First Carcass announced their reunion, soon followed by a final reunion from At The Gates. But now, there is once again a reason to celebrate their massively influential career as the band will soon be releasing ‘The Flames of the End’, an extensive, in-depth and definitive 3-disc DVD. Of course yhe DVD also contains a lot of material from the reunion tour in 2008. Thanks to Earache AsIce.net shared a few words with Anders Björler, former guitar player for At The Gates. Check it out!

Airbourne: rock 'n' roll is the universal language

posted by: David on 11 February 2010

Singer/guitarist Joel O’Keeffe from Airbourne doesn’t care that his band is being compared to AC/DC or Rose Tattoo all the time. He loves both of them, because he just loves rock ‘n’ roll! Airbourne is about to release their new album ‘No Guts, No Glory’ and it sounds at least as good as the previous album ‘Runnin’ Wild’. AsIce.net talked to the genuinely nice front man about being in a band, rock ‘n’ roll, recording the new album, video games and playing live. Check it out!

With their 1994 debut album ‘Burn My Eyes’, Machine Head came crushing into the metal scene like a ten ton hammer. For that record alone they deserve all the respect they can get. No matter how you feel about the releases that came after their debut, you’ll still find some interesting answers in this interview with Robb Flynn, as we talked about the history of Machine Head, Dynamo Open Air, Anvil and his love for hardcore and punk rock. My City Burning: the best is yet to come

posted by: David on 25 November 2009

A year ago I reviewed the self-released EP White Lies, Black Eyes by My City Burning. I liked that release, so I was wondering what the band has been up to since then. Turned out they were doing great! Check out the interview I did with singer Igor.
